Workshops in the EU will be held in Karditsa, Greece (15 March 2013), Padova, Italy (18 March 2013), and Potsdam, Germany (21 March 2013).
In Greece, the workshop will be held in the city of Karditsa which is in the heart of the Greek cotton growing area and within the largest agronomic production area in Greece. In Italy, the workshop will be held at Agripolis, the agricultural campus of Università degli Studi di Padova and also the heart of the Veneto agricultural production region. In Germany, the workshop will be held on the campus of the Leibniz-Institute for Agricultural Engineering Potsdam-Bornim near Berlin in eastern Germany.
The title of the workshops is ”Precision Agriculture – A Management Plan for Improving Efficiency & Profitability”. Structure and content of each EU workshop is adapted to address local conditions and local crops of interest. Workshops are presented in English and translated into the local language by a professional translator.
The workshops will consist of classroom instruction in the morning, a lunch break, and an afternoon session of experiential learning. The last component will consist of hands-on equipment or technology demonstrations during which the classroom instruction will be reinforced.
